Sheila Fein

I am diligently working on what I call my Pillow Talk Series, which are paintings in acrylic on canvas and paper of chairs, couches, and objects which I personify. I am intrigued by theobjects we buy and surround ourselves with because they reflectwho we are and what we have become.

The images take on a life of their own and tell a story aboutrelationships and the inner workings of our imaginations. I amoften found in my studio leafing through catalogues and randomlypicking objects that inspire me to paint. When I am presentedwith a blank canvas or sheet of paper, I let my hand take off. Isee faces everywhere and they come through my work giving theviewer a place to meditate and see something new each time theyview the piece.

Another avenue I have gone down is the creation of my Fanta syPortrait series. I love to do commissions and helppeople to explore the meaningful images and people that surroundtheir lives and then to paint them for them. I am proud to saythat my painting called "Transition" of pre-inaugural Clinton was displayed at the Ronald Reagan Museum and Library inthe exhibit "Presidents from Washington to Clinton".The painting also adorned the California Inaugural Ball at theKennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Mayor Riordin of Los Angelesdisplays a painting I did for him for his dedication to the cityof Los Angeles among other political figures and individuals.Below are paintings I have done on commission for variousclients. Please contact me for a price sheet and information onhow I can create a personal Fantasy Portrait foryou!
