In a moment of thought there seems to be a speck of light -tiny as it may be- that is the beginning of inspiration. Thus begins the artistic journey for in the dreams of inspiration grows the shadowing forms of the mind which flow through the body emerging and evolving into creation. Through art there is the freedom of one's interpretation connecting with their own speck of light-however tiny it may be.
I paint from inspiration and various resources using different mediums including oil, acrylic, water based egg-tempera, pencil, canvas, solid supports and gesso paper. I start with a thumb and small sketches on paper and then transfer to canvas or resketch them, block and fill the canvas with paint being sure to cover the whole area. Then I start glazing and wiping out areas that do not work. I then finish with a final coat using a minimal pallet trying to keep with three primary colors only. I am also currently experimenting with kinetic forms of painting and three-dimensional water sculptures. I am presenting three forms that have emerged from my specks of light: SADA , the Way of Tea. A moment of reflection. What of the one drop of tea? Moonlight Stampede . Eyeless forms caught endlessly stampeding haunting in the modern western moonlight. The Ancestor . Age and one's contemplation of life's worldly vanities and passions are intimate within our essence. The ancestor is the beginning of an idea and the white elephant is the right to fertility. We as seniors are still young. |
