Gerald Farris was born in Geneva, Alabama. He has been doing art
for some thirty years. His favorite medium is oils. Gerald is an
artist because it offers him the opportunity to be creative, find
peace, relaxation, and the freedom to express himself without limitation.
Gerald's philosophy about art is that it is God given. The ability
to express that in a physical, visual way that is pleasing to the
eye and public is one of man's greatest gifts. He feels that without
art our lives would be different, as far as the arts are concerned.
There would be no way to express one's self, and would not assist
man to be successful. He would be without completion. And man could
not leave an impression on humanity and could not exercise our free
spirit.
Mr. Farris has had an opportunity to enter competitions and compete
with the best, as well as having a couple one man shows. His advice
to new, upcoming artists - you must persevere. For him, "To
live, is to paint."
Mr. Farrais accepts commissioned work and also designs company
logos.
