I stand in awe at God’s beautiful works of creation. This world of ours is His masterpiece. My soul is so deeply touched when I take the time to stop and experience the miraculous things in nature. The perfection of His every detail is what I strive to show in my artwork. I feel very fortunate that I have been given this gift to recreate in my own way His awesome works of nature. This has been a process in life that is being enriched by experiences that are encountered daily. Just as He sets His perfect standards in every day life that we strive to meet, is comparable to my desire to produce a piece of artwork that can somehow come close to the beauty that has touched my heart so deeply. The medium used to create my artwork depends upon the scene encountered and photographed. I work with pen and ink, watercolor pencil and graphite pencil.
I was born and raised near the small country town of Traverse City, Michigan. Growing up I was continually exposed to the arts as my mother is a skilled artist and has many creative abilities. I have a sister who works in the graphic arts field and one who creates jewelry. My other siblings spend time creating art whenever possible. During my junior and senior years in high school, I spent my time studying commercial art at the vocational center. After my graduation in 1980, I attended Northwestern Michigan College and continued my studies in art through 1982. I then married my husband Jerry and we resided in Virginia Beach, Virginia until 1987. After the birth of our first child we moved to Florida where we have lived ever since with our three children Ashley, Kile and Ryan. Since my marriage began, I have been devoted to my family as well as continuing my dream as an artist. My love of family, nature, and my always-active imagination is reflected in my ability to diversify artistic themes. Gloria has been showing her artwork professionally in art shows through out the state of Florida. |
