Artists usually know instinctively that these three elements, Expressionism, Abstraction and Fantastic Art, go into every work of art, often stressing one element over another in any particular work. Colleen often finds herself moving into the realm of Fantastic Art which gives her paintings a somewhat Surreal effect by its dreamlike state or irrational arrangement of material.

Colleen is a westerner by birth and upbringing. She graduated from Idaho State University and taught in the elementary grades in the West and on Guam, taking art courses whenever possible. Over the past several years Colleen has been devoting almost all of her time to painting. She especially enjoys painting flowers and landscapes.

After spending a delightful six years living in the lovely Appalachian Mountains, Colleen has returned to the scenic splendor of the West to continue her art career.
